Ndikho Xaba and The Natives by Ndikho Xaba and The Natives

Born in 1934 in South Africa, Ndikho Xaba was exiled to the US, Canada and Tanzania from 1964 to 1998 picking up political, spiritual and musical urgency as he went and translating those ideas through his South African roots. The influence of Sun Ra (The Natives having shared a bill with them on more than one occasion) is always present bringing an adventurous musical weirdness to this already powerful blend of soulful, cultural and political ideas.
