New from Beau Wanzer is this Untitled 12”, loaded up with four tracks of compulsive-twitch inducing underslung electro. ‘Beaches of Leeches’ is especially good, parts of the mix sounding almost dubbed out while others push through shinily. Released on Beau Wanzer’s own self-titled label, no less.

7/10 Laurie Staff review, 03 June 2015
There’s a creepy clown on both the label and the first track. Musically, this clown takes the form of a weird speedy spook arp and an uneven 5 beats in each bar, throwing even the crazy acid heads off. Propelled by fluttering hats and distorted percs, this is dance music in clown’s clothing from the big crazy American that is Beau Wanzer. It’s got to be called Untitled if it’s weird.
Just when you think that the nonsense synths have stopped, Wanzer drops in another for A2, because your mind just isn’t fried enough. This is over a straight beat though so he’s gradually finding his feet. A lazier beat too, a 4/4 groove without a four-to-the-floor. This is entirely inverted for the next one which must be about 150bpm or something, kicking constantly - can anyone dance to this?? Technoviking perhaps. Some subdued grinding can be heard beneath the thump assault as well as a hint of the omnipresent arpeggio. Help. The final one on B2 also sounds like it’s being played too fast, but Wanzer assures us that it is indeed 45rpm. It’s an extension of the previous tune, but with some demonic vocal murmurs over the usual bonkers techno backdrop. This is impossible to judge, approach with caution.
