Six Six Seconds’ Tearing Down Heaven was first heard on a Downwards compilation a few years ago, but it was agreed by all involved that it was worth being released on a disc of its own. Here it is on a 10”, in all its dark, seething glory, backed with Reprise, a fresh return to the same territory.

Three times. Three times I’ve tried to review this. Each time a different crisis culminating in a dustbin stand off which has now resolved. Do Boomkat have these problems?
Right then, this was originally on the Downwards compilation So Click Heels but everyone liked it so much that it was decided to release it on a 10”. And rightly so as it’s a right pummelling gothy affair with lots of stretched out sounds and eerie vocals over a terrifying bass line. The drum machine screams 1983 at my face which I like a lot. Overleaf we get a rework which takes that drum off and concentrates on the shoegaze textures. Worth a punt.
