What is super-rad about this release is that Antenes reportedly crafts these tracks out of homemade electronics, lending the synth sounds and the sequencing a delightfully off-kilter DIY edge. What she’s achieved on LIES-026.5 is a set of super-percussive odd-techno that I found myself wanting to put on again and again.

7/10 Laurie Staff review, 06 May 2015

This actually is a release filled with Long Island electrical systems. Antenes is an audibly adept builder of techno-building homebrewed circuits, bring her more or less total control of her sound from the micro to the macro.

The first side consists of minimal perc at a steady pace, surrounded by ghostly noise layers both pink and white, shoutout to Antenes’ machines. Over to the B you’re greeted by many layers of broken beat shuddering off each other, which I’m sure will translate well to a good system, people will move to this. It’s relatively thin on additional elements which could be an issue for some with such a long tune but the variety within restriction is still enjoyable, especially when you knock the tempo up a bit. B2 is more or less an expanded version of the above, interspersed with lazer shot synthwork, as if responding to the above criticism. A promising debut 12” judging by that B side, so Antenes, keep building shit!
