9/10 Andrew Customer review, 31st May 2015
Bill Brewster is a ridiculously below the radar figure considering the impact he has had through his defining books, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and How To DJ Properly. His work under the DJ History moniker should mark him out as a chronicler of the dance world. His taste in music is superb as regular listeners to his mixes will know. So, to this the 3rd in the series of 'After Dark' sessions curated by Bill. Well, if you picked up either of the first two, you'll know what to expect, if not then you are in for a treat.
I'm not going to run through track by track, that would spoil things. However I will say that this is an impeccable selection of lazy, low slung chugging disco, downtempo house, joyous french pop, unexpectedly good remixes of tracks you'd possibly give a wide berth to and the kind of cosmic, obscure but bloody funky, good and eclectic type of music you'd envy if you went to a cool mate of a mates house. Well you too can be that mate of a mate. Hide the sleeve & take the credit for compiling a superlative late night back to mine mix.
