Saturns Pattern is Paul Weller’s eleventh solo studio album but his first for the Parlophone label. Weller describes the album as being different to everything else he’s done and different to all other music that currently exists. I’m sure fans of the Modfather will love it though, with a dose of the usual amidst what are described as "fresh avenues". Ah, fresh avenues.
8/10 Jack Customer review, 4th February 2018
Concise at 9 tracks, on Saturns Patterns Weller still displays the musical chameleon in him with the blistering Jack White-esque blues rocker "White Sky" opening the album, followed by the more subdued (but still rocking) title track which sounds like a jam fest with fleeting horns, squealing guitars, prancing piano, and some skat singing. The album might not be perfect, but any complaints are minor niggles. Saturn's Pattern may not win Weller any new followers, but it amply reminds us just how talented an artist he is.
