It’s new indie pop from Lake Komo with their debut 7”, Thinktank released on fledgling label Human Music. Lake Komo are based in Manchester and hail from Lancaster and Kendal. Their music is cold, electronic indie pop which feels synthetic, with even a bit of autotune in there to remind you of awful music from the early 2000s. Lovely.
5/10 Clinton Staff review, 13 May 2015
Lake Komo are based in Manchester and hail from Lancaster and Kendal. Isn't that the same for Womans Hour? How does that work? As with Womans Hour they make very slick ‘80’s pop, this time with nods towards A-ha and ‘Tango In The Night’ era Fleetwood Mac with some truly dreadful synth sounds sneaking into the mix. I generally like synthy atmospheric 80’s yacht stuff but this is too polished by half. I never thought I’d put the words Mumford and Sons and Chris Rea together in a sentence but I just have.
