The flying cymbal sound is the sound of the hi-hat opening and closing. Jamaican producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee credits drummer, Sly Dunbar with playing the rhythm first, but Bunny Lee was the man who noticed its potential. The sound, based on the Philly Bump, was ever-present in the dancehalls in the mid-seventies. Bunny Lee's Kingston Flying Cymbals is a compilation of the best moments from a classic era in Jamaican music.
