7/10 Clinton Staff review, 21 April 2015
Brian Wilson's latest album the horrifyingly pun-tastic 'No Pier Pressure' has its moments. both good and devastatingly bad. This 7" contains two of the better collaborative efforts, mainly because they are done with ex-Beach Boys and not Kasey Musgraves or members of .fun. 'The Right Time' is the type of track that sounds better in your head than it does on record, it's chorus is infectiously harmonious but the structure leaves something to be desired. It's like Wilson simply gave up a few minutes in. 'Sail Away' is also odd in that on first few listens I thought it was excellent but the more I hear it, the more it annoys me. It sounds very much like 'Sail On Sailor' if someone chopped it up with scissors and re-arranged it with bits of the flute line from 'Sloop John B'.
