Re-issue culture reaches new and confusing heights with this issue of rehearsal tracks found by members of The Heads when they were putting together the bonus tracks for their 'Everybody Knows We Got Nowhere' re-issue. So, effectively this is bonus stuff from the bonus tracks..... we think. In any case The Heads records usually beat a path out of our office at an alarming rate of knots so don't expect this to hang around too long.

I too was disappointed with this album as I was super excited to pick up the only copy in our store on RSD15. The fact that Norman still have a lot in stock two weeks after Record Store Day speaks volumes. When it said demos I expected much better quality than it is. It sounds like it was recorded on an old cassette recorder while the band were in the other room. There are no vocals and it is just one pounding (but distantly recorded) riff and wah wah guitar solo. That said once you get used to the poor quality it becomes quite hypnotic and it is a keeper and the artwork, gatefold and poster are cool. It would have sounded awesome if recorded even a bit more professionally. Can't help feeling they've really scraped the barrel on this one tho.

This isn't what I thought It would be. I heard this was demos of earlier songs. It sounds like someone playing the same three chords for the entire album. Very disappointed for the Heads. I loved their last two albums. I'd recommend to stay away from this. I queued to get this on Record Store Day I wish I hadn't. Good job I was there for other LPs too. I'd like to hear what others think of this album too. Obviously it was just a money spinner for Record Store Day. I would have stopped writing about half way through this but it wouldn't let me. Thankfully I think I can submit this now. If they actually put this up.
