Whipcrack drum machines and darkly low-slung synths drive NUN’s self-titled debut forwards. This is a pretty great sound they have, tightly focused and propulsive. The band are from Melbourne, but no Australian sun has seeped into these recordings. LP packaged along with a poster, released on HoZac.

Nun's self titled debut is one of the the best albums to come from Australia in years. Dark, synthy with an 80's horror mood, Nun is outstanding from front to back. The album continues from their exceptional 7" Solvents/Cronenberg by opening with the intense build up of noise in Immersion II before diving straight into the insanely catchy Evoke the Sleep. The hits keep coming with Kino, Uri Gellar and album closer In Blood all being choice tracks. Really the only complaint I have is that it doesn't include their first single "Solvents" on the tracklisting, so that 7" is also 100% worth tracking down. Super catchy and super great. I've heard the album about 80 times and it hasn't worn out it's welcome.
