‘Six Songs’ is Sacred Paws’s debut mini album release for Mogwai’s Rock Action Records label. They play beautifully crafted, disjointed pop music that is spontaneous and uplifting. Their playful rhythms and soulful melodies are nothing short of pure music joy with spangly guitars and upbeat post punk drums.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 13 March 2015
It obviously wasn’t just me who sat through endless tracks by the likes of the Bhundu Boys whilst waiting for Ed’s Redeeming Qualities or some sort of obscurity to pop up on early ‘90’s episodes of the John Peel show. Sacred Paws twisting turning rhythms have all the hallmarks of afro-beat in their DNA. The African influenced guitars twist and turn around spiralling percussion yet if I were to come up with a catch-all musical reference I’d be more likely to plump for the jagged post-punk of The Slits. What Sacred Paws do is take that wiry sound and make it fun and danceable.
Their rhythms are infectious, their melodies buoyant and harmonies are always uplifting. They’ve come up with a nice blend of styles and their tight, disciplined playing suggests that this is going to be an absolute blast live.
