Liam’s Beady Eye may have parted ways, not a bad thing now that it lets guitarist Andy Bell reform Ride, and Beady Eye weren't much good anyway, however the less grumpy one has a new record coming out with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Here with have the debut single, The Ballad of The Mighty I, a, dare I say it, U2 sounding track with some atmospheric, echoing piano and bass carrying it along. Backed with Revolution Song.

The man who would have liked Sleaford Mods had they not slagged him off and is now forced to spend every interview reiterating how much he hates them is back with a new single. Plastered all over 6 Music like a particularly bland piece of wallpaper, it's Noel at his most upbeat, which is as upbeat as something halfway between Elbow and Embrace. The melody would be pretty decent had it not been lifted lock stock and barrel from the Hollies 'Bus Stop', and I do sort of like the chorus bit. Shame the vocals are reminiscent of those of a man who has recently gargled using an industrial sander.
