Torche are monoliths of the heavy rock scene whose ascent to power came about through a clash of infectiously heavy melodies perfectly complimented by grungey, downtuned, discordant rock. Their debut album with Relapse, 'Restarter' is a ten song manifesto of thunderous, heavy rock glory. In spite of it’s undisputable heaviness it has a pop sensibility that leaves you humming along for days.

7/10 gbar Customer review, 4th March 2017

On their aptly-titled fourth album, bubblegum stoner sludge outfit, Torche, have effectively started anew. Taking cues from front man Steve Brooks' other recently reunited sludge metal project, Floor, Restarter brings back the thick, chunky guitars heard on Meanderthal while eschewing most of the harmonious pop-punk trappings found on 2012’s ever-so-catchy Harmonicraft. As a whole, Restarter pounds the listener into submission with unrelenting riffs which ultimately reminds you that tinnitus is a very real thing.
