A reality check from Jenny Wilson. Demand The Impossible! is the introspective twelve tracker from the Swedish artist. Written while Wilson was receiving cancer treatment, the album features aggy synths, swooping vocal falsettos and wails, angular drums and squidgy bass lines. It's indie-art-disco-pop from Scandinavia, pick it up on on vinyl LP and CD from Crunchy Frog.

I have a feeling our Brian would like this. Alas he’s sat at home in his dressing gown hiding from the greyness of the sky. Jenny Wilson is a Swedish artist and style icon who has collaborated with The Knife and has written and recorded this album whilst recovering from cancer. She sounds like a lady in a hurry...certainly opener ‘Opposition’ is an excellent call to arms which recalls Neneh Cherry and Kate Tempest in its blustery attitude and insidious chorus.
The music is propulsive and brooding - an electronic bedrock for Wilson to fire over her angry diatribes. Occasionally nail is hot on head as on the soulful stride of ‘Wanna Have It All’ - this is a hit all day long. The similarities to Kate Tempest are at times striking as the album veers around the vagaries of left field R&B. Sometimes I can’t work out if its brilliant or terrible as on ‘The Soup’ ...’come on take a sip from the spoon’ but I get a similar feeling off many Tempest songs.
