Enchanting and fairy taleesque, the soundtrack to The Duke of Burgundy is characterized by floating vocals and a pretty orchestration upon which they drift. Cat’s Eyes offer a small window into a weird and pretty world, just like actual feline eyes. Here’s a chance to step through the iris.

- The Duke Of Burgundy by Cat's Eyes
8/10 Adam O'Sullivan 12th March 2015
A really great record. Not something to over-analyse here and only a touch of The Horrors to be heard. I've still not seen the film and it really is a testament to how good this soundtrack is that it is able to flourish independently.
Compared to the Cat's Eyes full length from a few years ago this record is noticeably more subdued and has points of reference spanning Nino Rota to Broadcast. It benefits enormously from being heard in full and whilst stand out songs are there ('Opening Theme' for instance) the album is weighted for a rewarding and undemanding listen.
