6/10 Clinton Staff review, 12 March 2015

When I first heard this on 6 Music I checked the screen on my digital radio for the song ticker to come up, only spotted the word Courtney and got to thinking that this was a slightly more interesting direction for Ms Love although one that it was a rather clunky attempt at cool. I then saw Barnett appear and quickly realised that I was supposed to like this rather than mock it.

It belts along on a Nirvana-lite riff with rambling stream of consciousness type vocals. Its angry, it’s edgy it’s the absolute living definition of something thats just ‘ok’.  Overleaf she covers an old Lemonheads song. Yaaaawwwn. Can we just fuckin’ forget the ‘90’s please?
