Some scuzzed out mutations from Six Organs of Admittance. Hexadic is the new full length from the man that is Ben Chasny. Apparently, he's pioneered some new fangled compositional devices for this one, cause he had to write something heavier than Nick Clegg's woebegone conscience. Chocka with super fuzzed out guitars, warped vocal wailings and the low ended doom that only the bass and drums can supply. Out on vinyl LP and CD from Drag City.

7/10 Tom Customer review, 24th May 2018
In a fascinating career that has leaned heavily towards folk (or so-called freak-folk), Ben Chasny surprised many people with this year’s Hexadic, a densely distorted album based on a system of writing for guitar that he developed using playing cards. The songs are unsettling and haunting, with Chasny’s quivering voice and layers of discordant guitar drones giving one the impression of being lost in the desert or in the middle of the ocean at night. Repeat spins reveal new layers of menace and beauty in equal measure if you dare to delve deeper into Chasny’s otherworldly soundscapes.
