Big wide open shoegaze from St. Petersberg, Russia! Pinkshinyultrablast grabbed that pleasing name from an album by Astrobrite, which gives an impression of what their sound might be, but these guys love shoegaze too much to simply replicate it like a relic from the early '90s. Instead they push forward and outwards, into subtly new spaces.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 23 January 2015

“That’s definitely The Edge on guitar” mutters Laurie as the first sign of skyscraping guitars leaping heavenwards flutter into view. This album of join the dots Euro-gaze was surprisingly ripped off the stereo by our resident ‘gaze expert Ian. The thing is, he loved it. It was just that he sensed everyone else was making evil looking eyes at him. Therefore the usual caveat applies  - if you like your music to not really have moved on much in 25 years then you will be fine with this. If however the thought of another shoe (nu) gaze repeat-a-idea album fills you with dread  - best look away now.

They certainly have spunk, opener ‘Wish We Were’ develops from a red herring M83 styled electronic opening to aforementioned guitar scree, power drumming and ethereal Lush-like vox. These people aren’t afraid of complicating the structure, in this regard there’s certain nods towards complex-a-Danes Mew. Especially ‘Holy Forest’ which uses the same penchant for lop sided melodies hidden beneath acres of effected guitars and synth wash. I’m reminded many many times of A Sunny Day in Glasgow especially on what I think is ‘Metamorphosis’ (this impressive glittery vinyl is causing problems distinguishing tracks) yet the shoegaze power section that develops is as predictable as the words Kevin Shields filtering into this review somewhere.

It’s all impressively produced and brimming with the sort of ideas that would have sounded monumental in ‘93. I wish someone would push things forward a bit rather than relying on past fail safes but Pinkshinyultrablast certainly re-tread with panache.

10/10 Fernando Rivera Customer review, 9th March 2015

The globalization effect has allowed these days the immediate connection and communication between people knowing the new musical proposals around the world very fast, through the internet, and listening and enjoying new bands that are transcending in the Musical ambient with a completely different and new concept.

One of this incredible and genious new bands is PINKSHINYULTRABLAST, coming from Russia, and now they are conquering the Indie scene with a big success because many people, around the world, are talking about the importance of their work. Their nusic is absolutely gorgeous and amazing reflecting the power to bring us an excellent and detailed treatment in the sonic and musical elaboration with their own style.

PINKSHINYULTRABLAST show us a refreshing sound and an awesome musical proposal with their extraordinary debut album “Everything Else Matters” (2015) taking elements from the neo-shogaze style but they go further mixing other tastes like dream-pop, post-rock, noise and krautrock creating a personal trademark. A delicious trip to a whole new world of sounds and melodies to discover and an exquisite modern gem. One of the most impressive bands around the world today.
