Bradford based odd fuzzy poppers Gurgles return with a brand new cassette on their own Saltaire Recordings (ah Saltaire - nice innit?). It's produced by MJ from the Hookworms and it is limited to just 30 copies. Not only that, I can safely say that it's the only item we have in stock which comes wrapped in a leaf.

It's a rare event when we receive into stock a tape wrapped in a banana leaf. In fact I think this is the only time I’ve ever seen it done. They’ve numbered the leaf too, and there are only 30 of these. The question remains: did they pillage the whole plant? Anyway, Gurgles are an oddball 3-piece from the outskirts of Bradford, playing a particularly fizzy brand of pop/prog. The opener here is indeed a raucous slab of proggy pop, falling somewhere between Genesis, The Cardiacs , Tame Impala and Sparks. Overleaf, I can hear the same track playing. Ah, is this one of those retro plays same both sides cassingles? Seems so. Great packaging. I’d like more music but they’ve put an awful lot of work into the one song. Hookworm MJ gets his twiddle on in the production chair.
