Some tough salted beef from Shifted. Arrangements In Monochrome Part One is an excursion in deep sea drilling techno. It's filled with gurgled noises, pneumatic percussion and spectral water demons. It's so industrial it leads me to believe Shifted has actually just been living on an oil rig and this is the closest he has come to dance music. Out on 12" vinyl from Avian.

Holy shit! Mandatory double whammy from Shifted that’s so far up my street it’s actually in my house, sleeping in my bed. It’s like Shifted is inside my brain, reading my sonic desires and very kindly pressing them onto vinyl via his Avain imprint.

This is the sound of Cold Meat Industry, Basic Channel, Hospital Productions, Planetary Assault Systems and Axis all banging their boxes on a space station hovering far from the sun. If that doesn’t make you want to check out this pair of whoppers then you simply don’t deserve to own a pair of ears.

Look out for the second tune on the first part; proper trippy Mike Parker style groove but not as minimal with dubbed out F/X and a proper gloopy, squelchy sizzling liquid metal sound of superbly sculpted voltage. Definitely in the box for January.
