Few genres have a formula as generic as dub techno, and yet it’s a formula that always seems to work. This cut - a long lost D side by Detroit’s own DeepChord, as the title suggests - is no exception, doing what dub techno tends to do but very well indeed. There’s been a very limited pressing and it has already received… “celebrity” endorsement in the shape of Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Omar S, among others, so snap it up whilst you still can, basically.

As the description suggests, dub techno is, on the surface, the most generic of genres yet artists like Deepchord come up with the goods time and again. This one sided 12” is fully of propulsive hissy rhythms, repetitive synth motifs and those rain drenched late night atmospherics that you can get lost in. The track subtly changes and mutates throughout with elements moved around its dub inflected framework. This is basically a one sided outtake yet its one of the best things out all week. Tremendous stuff. Get it while you can.
