This 7” single comes from two new Manchester young things Bernard + Edith who create creepy, dark songs with Greta ‘Edith’ Caroll’s vocals creeping along the tumbling, bubbling, threatening break beats of Nick ‘Bernard’ Delap. A duo to watch, for sure.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 26 November 2014

Lots of hype about these two Manchester electronic doomsters and they are ok I suppose. Opener ‘Wurds’ features dark electronics, terrifying breathing sounds and a wracked soulful female vocals. It’s not too far away from pervy duo 18+. There’s no hook or chorus as such, it just circles around being slightly scary everywhere. Overleaf ‘Bamboo’ introduces some kind of tropical synths with some seriously off kilter female vocals that sound like they have been recorded with the vocalist barely in sync with the track. It might not be as smooth and sensual as the A side but it’s pretty interesting stuff, kinda like Tuneyards on downers.
