Voulez-vous entendre certains musique lounge français sale?
Mais oui beau monsieur.
Eh bien , venez dans ma chambre pour fumer une cigarette , l'absinthe et qui sait ?
and so it goes, another belle falls to the dirty french psychedelic sound. I shouldn't be quite so flippant as this isn't some Clouseau like collection of comecy romps, rather this is a slightly darker look at the music found in smoky back street bars, listened to amongst the roll neck clad left bank types reacting against the pretty terrible pop that gave the French a bad name until St Germain, Air and of course Daft Punk smashed through snobbery to remind everyone that the French can funk.
This is hypnotic, funky, hazy and of course psychedelic stuff. Get lost in the LSD influenced rock grooves and take a sip of something strong. Maybe see if you can find a Francois Hardy to keep you company. Great stuff.
