Techno techno techno. Yeah, it's the age of techno. December are the first signing to Blackest Ever Black's new snappily monikered side step label Original Street Techno. 'In Advance of the Broken Arm' is actually more reminiscent of a dark paranoid electro track though. A steely clap and punchy kick roll, this queer churning industrial loop and some unnerving samples of inhalations and malevolent whispers make this a proper chilling backroom stalker. An air of malevolence pervades but the doomy Detroit synth melody sounds characteristically decayed and utterly thrilling so you'll not be too shitted-up enough to turn the bleeder off.
If you were dancing there, yeah you at the back. And that muntered girl who just staggered in from the house room wiping her nose distractedly. Go. Now. Don't listen to 'Collapse'. It's a horror. Digital bricks stuck in a sluggish washing machine full of bad drugs. It keeps on getting stuck I think. There's some horrible bent glassy chords. It just stumbles along like a ketamine addict at a funeral half an hour after everyone's retired to the pub. It just got stuck again. I'm off home. The 'A' side is ace. The 'B' side is a tit.
