Beady Eye might be done, but it's okay, because Oasis' slightly less shitty brother is still going strong with his High Flying Birds, proving his melodic sensibilities were always where it was at. 'Chasing Yesterday' is the next record on the horizon from his band, and this 7" features the first of its singles, "In The Heat Of The Moment". Shine on, or whatever they say in that song. Maybe that was the Beatles.

5/10 Staff review, 13 November 2014

When are we going to get Noel Gallagher’s much anticipated “experimental” album? I have a hunch it isn't going to be his upcoming opus “Chasing Yesterday” from the sounds of this the first 7” taken from the future masterpiece. Its a fuzzy compressed radio friendly tune with the bare minimum of hooks which just see it through to the end. Forgettable but not offensive.

Overleaf on ‘Do the Damage’ he comes up with a tune even more nondescript- not a hint of melody in this  - quite an achievement really. It has a raucous saxophone solo that sorta resembles the sound of an exhaust pipe on a delapidated Austin Allegro. I kinda wish he’d just stick to the chat shows as he’s a droll guy...yet must insist on making music.
