Infectious Japanese piano driven indie-pop from Eiko Ishibashi. Car and Freezer is brimming with catchy hooks and generous harmonies. The arrangements and instrumentation exemplify Eiko's influences, spanning decades of pop, indie, folk and roots music from east and west. There are also plenty of collaborations, which brings a level of diversity to the record. Vinyl LP out on Drag City.

7/10 Customer review, 1st March 2015

Produced by a music wizard such as Jim O'Rourke, this record has a jazz texture and an instrumental variety that trascends a post-rock orchestration set up for a fusion-oriented one.

This is therefore not a minimalistic opera but rather a colorful palette where sudeen armonical changes, rithm accelerations, allows Eiko delicate chant link everything together, without being heavy and/or predictable. Fresh as a spring morning on a beach, this record is issued in both english and japanese versions. The LP version presents a selection of the two. Elegant
