This looks alright. Yosoy are an electrodream pop duo making modular coldwave stuff but with an experimental atmosphere similar to Fennesz or Tim Hecker. This is their first release and even if you aren't keen on their early New Order like tones, you might want to buy it for the badges and bag of personalised confetti that comes with it.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 29 October 2014

Mmmm. Nice package. Within this 7” you get a picture of a man with a beard, an envelope containing badges, letter and confetti should you ever happen to need it. Also enclosed is a record which contains four slabs of really unusual electronica that I think you might like.

They have a laid back style that sits somewhere betwixt Hype Williams, 18+ and The XX. The electronics are off kilter and slightly wibbly. The vocals (by a male) are kinda of detached and teutonic. As opener ‘Talk’ builds it quickly starts to sound like something pretty special, especially when he sings ‘shake that ass’. Nice touch. ‘Good Life’ has a pulsing beat which I’m finding extremely attractive to my ear, the vocals are monotone and kind of fed up, reminding me of a depressed Metronomy.

Overleaf is a another slice of darkwave influenced electronica with some serious euro-pop influences before the whole thing is rounded off by more morose misera-tronica. Imagine if someone has really upset Neil Tennant? That kind of vocal. Really liked the first two tracks, the second two provided no more variety but I enjoyed them in the way someone who was once quite enamoured with Junior Boys would.
