Travelled folkie Nancy Wallace has released a great deal of rural, naturally motivated material since stepping away from Owl Service and the Memory Band, and now she celebrates the most appropriate of folk seasons: winter. These songs are dedicated to the December period, recorded for the Snowflakes Christmas Club project, and show Wallace acting as both a modern folk songwriter -- with stark original "January" -- and a traditionalist working with standards on "200 Miles".

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 04 December 2014
Welcome to Clint’s christmas corner. As many people know, I make the most wonderful Santa Claus - cuddly, rotund but rather too fond of a nip of the old mince pies for comfort. First up Nancy Wallace who released a lovely 7” early this year which made a rather large tear come to my eye. Here the ex Memory Band folkie gives us a gift of two finger picked loveliness. ‘January’ is an original composition and is like a tinsel clad Sandy Denny singing songs around a big roaring fire. Overleaf she covers the marvellous ‘2000 Miles’ by the Pretenders in hushed finger jammed in ear stylee. You can almost hear the crackle of the fire and the clink of the sherry glass. Nice
