1963 Demo Sessions by Phil Ochs

Phil Ochs is the greatest American songwriter that not that many people know about. He was a travelling mouthpiece, a singing newspaper if you will. Taking the political rhetoric of the day to the people he served a purpose of enlightening people in a day and age where the media was controlled. Much changed? Not really but with no internet back then Ochs had even more of a purpose as he would today. But not only that he was a great songwriter with a rich chocolate voice and a gorgeous finger picking guitar style. These are some very, very early demos recorded on a reel to reel tape machine, very few of which turned up on later LPs.
