If you can't deal with alliteration, look away now: it's 'Painting Pictures' by Purple Heart Parade! Really, though, this debut single shows a masterful young band working through the realms of fuzz rock and psych devotion, with riffs swirling around the place and never quite locking into place. On the flip is the delightfully titled "Starf*cker Blues" (censored at their discretion, not ours).
7/10 Clinton Staff review, 15 October 2014
Gotta like this 7" of psych-y rock. They sound like a wind-beaten, rain lashed Brit version of Tame Impala. 'Painting Pictures' is all fuzzy out of focus arrangements and pounding four to the floor drums. Half way in the track settles down and gets all moody on your ass and they prove to have some nice cloudy chords up their sleeves. Good stuff. Overleaf 'Starf*cker Blues' is a heavy organ led slab of early 70's influenced prog to get your pipe out to and heads more along an Electric Wizard path. Impressive start.
