A truly bizarre lost recording getting unearthed here by the estimable Trunk. Never released before, this is a collaboration between actor and songwriter Anthony Newley, whose best-known compositions include 'Feeling Good', the 'Goldfinger' theme and the score to 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' (recently covered in its entirety by Primus), in a rare electronic setting thanks to the gentle futuristic beepings of none other than BBC Radiophonic legend Delia Derbyshire, who apparently didn't like the results at the time but grew fonder of it later in life.

- Moogies Bloogies by Delia Derbyshire & Anthony Newley

Jonny Trunk continues his quest to release the world most bizarre records, this one is notable for having music by legendary BBC Radiophonic Orchestra composer Delia Derbyshire. It also has ‘vocals’ by Antony Newley containing lyrics which should concern the bods at Operation Yewtree.
Its an eerie type of ‘perv-pop’, the electronics are interesting of course. The vocals date the track to an era where you could openly lust after young women on record. There are two tracks - ‘Moogies Bloogies is a stuttering piece with a melody Syd Barrett might have come up with in his latter days all English whimsy. On the B side ‘I Decoded You’ is more slathering after girls to a weirder backdrop before Newley bursts into eerie song. Strange stuff but another welcome piece in the Derbyshire jigsaw.
