9/10 Jack 8th February 2017

The mythical Mr. Onyeabor, whose back story is fabled and unclear, but what is clear is the amazing body of work he created. Sound quality varies depending on the source of the album, but overall much better than the shared bad dubs circulating the internet. What I think sets this off from other music that originated in Nigeria around the time, whether it be Fela or some of the amazing compilations Nigeria 70 comes to mind, and some Soundway comps, is that Onyeabor's music has a definitive lighthearted smile that is in every great synth groove.
