Cheeky emo punks Jawbreaker originally released '24 Hour Revenge Therapy' in 1994, as the follow-up to their sophomore effort Bivouac. Once again, the Jawbreaker combination is in full effect on this record, the whole party resting on the witty, self-deprecating lyricism of Blake Schwarzenbach and their raw, unhinged presentation through crashing guitars and drums. '24 Hour Revenge Therapy' is a fine document from one of the most underrated pop-punk bands of the 90s.

This takes me right back to my angst ridden emo youth, getting the re-issue treatment here is post-hardcore/melodic punk originators Jawbreaker with their classic 1994 album ‘24 Hour Revenge Therapy’. This is one of those albums that you just have to own if you have any interest in bouncy american heavy punk-rock whatever age you are, forget your Green Days and your My Chemical Romances, this is the good stuff right here, bands back then didn’t care about fashion or getting rich, they formed bands because they loved making music and didn’t mind playing sweaty little pubs and clubs with only a toilet for a dressing room.

With the combination of super chunky but dirty guitars and Blake Schwarzenbach’s gravel voiced vocals all co-produced by none other than the mighty Steve Albini, along with other acts like Samiam, Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is The Reason these guys paved the way for today’s emo/punk scene that dominates MTV Rocks and Kerrang and gets all the kids jumping and sweating in the rock clubs all over the globe.
