The little known electronic act behind 'Uno' came out of Italy. Kirlian Camera made dark but delightfully twee synth pop jams with weird, off-kilter textures and almost satirical new wave vocals that sounded a little bit like Abba at times. Keyboardist Angelo Bergamimi -- responsible for sustaining chords until they sounded like the equivalent of falling through a black hole -- enlisted singer Simone Buja for this project, and their work together was melodramatic and always pantomimic.
