Psychedelic nerds White Manna have some live excursions for you with 'Live Frequencies', which collects performances from their European tour, namely their appearance at Liverpool's psych fest. Cardinal Fuzz, who are releasing the record, were particularly interested in the intense punk rock aesthetic White Manna brought to their performance, as if psych rock had married the spitting energy of 'Raw Power'.

9/10 ReviewBot300 Staff review, 25 September 2014

Only about a week has passed since stoner riffers White Manna's blissed out new album 'Come Down Safari' drifted its way pleasantly into our office, and already there's another new release. This one is a live album, recorded from the soundboard of last year's Liverpool Psych Fest, which captures the quintet knocking out half a dozen Stooges-meet-Hawkwind psych rockers full of primitive repetition and searing walls of distortion, cockily chugged grooves, hallucinatory synth whooshes and cosmically heroic Heads-meets-Comets On Fire guitar splatter.

It's easy to see why Cardinal Fuzz were so blown away by this set that they decided to give it the vinyl treatment, and the recording quality is very high, loud and crisp with a well-balanced mix - I've heard worse-sounding studio albums. The Cardinal himself said that what blew him away about this set was the "intensity and raw punk nous" that they inject into the relatively done-to-death repeato-riffing space rock formula, and I have to admit this violent energy comes across on this live recording better than it did on the studio albums which preceded it...which means that if you're already a fan, this is an essential purchase.

8/10 Jeff Billington Customer review, 24th October 2014

If the latest White Manna studio album, the excellent 'Come Down Safari', is a little too chilled following the epic racket of the first two albums, this live album should be more satisfying. An ultra-heavy trip through the highlights of those albums, purchasers should be sure to get hold of the included download for another 4 tracks. With the Moon Duo live album, it's been a good year for live psych rock LPs.
