Two bands that seem suited for each other, what with their tender and motivational approaches to front porch folk music. Psych folkers Woods take up one side of this split 7", offering up their brand of woozy psychedelia; on the other side, there's MV & EE, an experimental folk act with hints of New Weird America. Both sides owe a lot to the places they were recorded in -- Woods recorded their site at the Bowery in New York, while MV & EE recorded theirs at the Woodsist Festival.

- Green is the Colour by MV&EE / Woods
Great split 7" from kindred spirits MV & EE and Woods. Both have released records on Woods owned Woodsist records and their unique take on folksies americana, be it experimental or otherwise, has yielded some of the most beautiful records to come from across the pond in the last 10 years. Here the two groups tackle Pink Floyd's 'Green Is The colour' at the Woodsist festival and the Bowery respectively. MV & EE's cover is an exceptionally comfortable strum out with the atmospheric use of guitars and the slight wobble of the tape machine giving this outing a real unique blurzzed out vibe. The solos are mind blowing! Woods take on the track in typical Woods style somehow injecting it with a Crosby, Stills and Nash vibe and tapping heavily into the the organ driven sound of the 70's. The recording doesn't possess the unique ambient qualities of the MV & EE version but the delivery is spot on. Dom GPS can do no wrong. Keep 'em coming buddy.
