Have you ever heard of that bloodthirsty fantasy TV show called 'Game Of Thrones', based on that set of tomes (also known as books) called 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R. R. Martin? If you have, then you have probably also been freaked out/unsettled/made to feel less-than-whole by its soundtrack, which is scored by the ever creepy mood-setter Ramin Djawadi. You can now hear his compositions for season four of the show on vinyl. As has become tradition for the show, season four also features a "cover" of a song from within the show's world, contributed this time by Sigur Rós, who perform "The Rains of Castamere" -- they follow in the footsteps of the National and the Hold Steady, bless them.

Ramin Djawadi really should be classified as one of the Gods in ASOIAF. His score for Season 4 of Game of Thrones is probably the best out of the four seasons, and also features an appearance from Icelandic legends Sigur Rós with their take on 'Rains of Castamere' which features in a brilliant episode #FuckTheKing. Standout pieces of music for me are 'Breaker of Chains', 'You Are No Son of Mine' and 'The Children'. If you are a fan of the series, or just into good soundtracks, you should buy this (and it's a limited edition!)
