Nick Hakim spent a large amount of time in his room eating dunkin' donuts in order to record his most recent work. He also has spent a lot of time listening to Bon Iver by the sounds of his voice on this slow burning 7". Sounds like my idea of hell but anyway this is a real churner of a track - a descending almost Beatlesy chord sequence goes round and round whilst Hakim's voice, slathered in effects wails on top.  Much preferring the second track which has a kind of late night jazz feel, like a lounge jazz group at 16rpm and slathered in reverb. There's a bit of King Krule , James Blake and Jamie Isaac about him on this one with its soulful delivery and jazz club atmospherics.  I think this lad could do quite well, I wasn't enamoured with the A side (possibly because I can't stand Bon Iver) but the gorgeous B side really has something special.
