Here's a tasty bit of Italian synthpop from 1991. Original copies of this are going for megabucks so it's about due a reissue. This trio were led by Fabrizio Chiari, a founder member of Kirlian Camera. They're best known for their mid-80s Italo-disco banger 'Eyes of Glass' from six years previous.
Chiari is very much at the helm here, and this is solid minimal synthpop stuff, with cold, spacious, pulsating arrangements and bold female vocals courtesy of the other two in the trio, Tiziana Wells and Lorenza Larini. It's distinctively Italian but with shades of New York house and late-80s synthpoppers like Pet Shop Boys or New Order. Most importantly the tunes are big and the synths sound great. Particularly liking the funky synth bass workout at the end of 'Blue', the shuddering pulses and string stabs in 'Privacy' and the cheeky rap action in 'Ice Of Fire', but this is thoroughly likeable stuff all round, and given the recent vintage synth renaissance that's going on it really sounds like it could've been recorded yesterday. Either yesterday or the late '80s.
