Dario Zenker fronts the Ilian Tape label based out in Munich, which has released esoteric house and techno works from Zenker and his brother (as, well, the Zenker Brothers), as well as minimal techno artists such as Jichael Mackson. Instead of release more work for Ilian Tape, though, 'Mörsin' is an entry for the famous London-based label The Trilogy Tapes, a flurry of techno releases overseen by Will Bankhead, that are slated to sound good at the gnarliset of clubs or in the most intimate of headphone settings. Zenker joins the company of prolific techno mainstays like Joy Orbison and Willie Burns -- as well as hip hop artists like Mykki Blanco -- on a label that makes the rounds in mixes for places like Rinse FM.

Much of Zenker's work involves understated and experimental vignettes of sound, such as out of time hand-claps and melodic flourishes around basslines. Zenker is also an accomplished DJ, having been a familiar face behind the decks at Ultrashall, Munich's prime electronic club, for a minute now. While 'Mörsin' is often as subtle as previous workings by Zenker, it often offers a more aggressive, sound-system ready vibe that the DJ in Zenker might want to let pop off, featuring distorted beats and overwhelming bass that will shift the room a couple meters down the road. 'Mörsin is comprised of four tracks that keep moving and let small aspects of sound, like drum fills and breakdowns, flit into overarching basslines. The release is subtly different from his work for Ilian Tape.
