High quality vinyl reissues of 3 ultra-rare, groundbreaking 7”s by France’s greatest guitar innovator and electronic music pioneer, Richard Pinhas. Pinhas is a pivotal figure in the experimental underground, if you’ve never heard of him just take a look down the list of some of his collaborators to get an idea of the kind of things he’s influenced (Merzbow, Keiji Haino, Wolf Eyes, Oren Ambarchi, Lasse Marhaug, Yoshida Tatsuya, Philip K Dick, Robert Fripp, Magma…).
The final EP of the series, ‘Perspectives’ from 1976, features a more austere sound than the previous two. Opening with stripped down electronic loops, densely textured, oblique bass and some heavily spaced out moog leads giving way to sequenced synth hypnosis. The flipside has the band in full-on rock mode kicking out a scrabbly groove with some jazzy keyboard runs playing counterpoint to some crazy spurts of phasered-to-fuck guitar that Helios Creed would be proud of.
Easily up there with the likes of more well-known German contemporaries like Can, Faust and Kraftwerk and about as cool as it gets, treat yourself to a bit of radical musical history.
