The first two Suede albums were great, especially their debut, with classics such as "The Drowners", "Metal Mickey" and "Animal Nitrate" on there. Bernard Butler left after the first album was done and dusted and they were never the same again. "Dog Man Star" was a more haunting affair but still had something about it. "We Are The Pigs" is probably the stand out cut. "Sci-Fi Lullabies" is a worthwhile addition to this set as some of the B-sides to the early singles were great. It's at this point in their chronology that you realise the decent single "Stay Together" is missing due to it being a non-LP track, which is a shame. "My Insatiable One" and "To The Birds" stick in the memory. Things go downhill a bit by the time you get to "Coming Up" although the singles "Trash" and "Beautiful Ones" were okay, but I hated "Filmstar". I feel as though Suede's three albums after this did very little for me and I lost interest. The set is good for the completist, but you only really need the first two albums and the singles collection.
