I first came across Buddy Miles around 1970 ish when an adventurous Dj on the then fledgling Northern Soul scene at the Twisted Wheel spun his new release of the title track from this album . Divided the dance floor it did! with mutterings of ' bloody Hendrix soundalike' (how close to the truth they didn't know) whilst the rest lapped up its drum driven express train of a rhythm. I bought the album soon after. Still sounds powerfully charged today. It is in fact soul/rock fusion in its earliest form. A shame he went on to become a Barry White crooning wannabe, oh yes and a Chocolate Raisin!!
