I've got a couple of very mysterious tapes here on the Nute label to write about. There's basically no info in either press release or sleeve art so I know nothing of the identity or origin of NPLGNN. I don't even know how their/her/his name is pronounced..."nipplegun"? I've got a couple of very mysterious tapes here on the Nute label to write about. There's basically no info in either press release or sleeve art so I know nothing of the identity or origin of NPLGNN. I don't even know how their/her/his name is pronounced..."nipplegun"? This is a pretty cool tape though, broken lo-fi electronics looped into dense industro-trash hypno-scapes full of runaway drum machines and spaced out, blown out synth abuse.   It sounds totally filthy, and gets straight to the point with four songs that each clock in around the five minute mark. Sometimes there's a bit of an acid techno thing going on but it's so submerged in distortion it's like trying to listen to acid on your headphones whilst mowing the lawn. It's anarchic, aggressive and shameless distorto-loop electronic tomfoolery; nasty, propulsive and kinetic. I bet it's teeth-grittingly intense to listen to in the car, so if you need something to blow away the cobwebs on those long late-night drives, make sure you have a copy of this handy. Enthusiastic thumbs up.
