'Deceiver' is a turning point in the career of Muslimgauze's Bryn Jones, a record that saw a change of direction in his extremely prolific output. 'Deceiver' focuses more than ever on bringing harsher noise and tougher sounds into the experimental electronic works of Muslimgauze. The 1996 record is now having its counterpart reissued, with a third and fourth volume courtesy of Staalplaat's Muslimgauze Preservation Society. This release is aesthetically similar: extremely distorted and often difficult to listen to. 'Deceiver Volume 3 & 4' is a recommended listen for fans of accessible noise experimentalists like Neil Campbell and Pharmakon.
