Here's the latest CD from Muslimgauze, a man whose unrelenting barrage of releases cannot be stemmed even by death. This one has the self-explanatory title of 'Un-used remix's 1994-1995'. There are eight mixes on here which don't even have titles, but it's somewhat business as usual, perhaps a little more spaced out, sinister and dubby but the expected east-meets-west sampletronica and mysterious understated rhythms are in full effect.   I'm particularly liking the dark, slightly industrial throb of the fourth track, with strange washes of metal-grinding distortion and smeared, submerged synths that waver in and out unsettlingly along with echoed field recorded atmospherics and dub-echo drums. Dark and deeply psychedelic. One wonders how much more treasure Bryn Jones's vaults are still hiding.
