I was well into MFC Chicken's debut LP 'Music For Chicken' so it's good to see they've got another one out. This troupe got together when Canadian-born frontman and sax honker Spencer Evoy had just arrived in London and was busking outside a chicken shop trying to earn enough money to get something to eat, only to be heard by a kindred spirit living above the shop, Bret Bolton. Pretty soon they'd put a band together and now they're one of London's premier garage acts, playing a predominantly chicken-themed '60s-soaked rock'n'roll time-warped from the days when tenor sax was cool, complete with more hooks than velcro. Not a million miles from King Salami and his schtick, and just as fun.
