Kikagaku Moyo improvise like they're falling through a black hole and can jam forever, and so Forest of Lost Children is just a snippet of their work together, a record that explores their meandering psych and folk workouts and picks out the best bits. This record buoys an Eastern influence and favours a frenetic clash of sounds over particular arrangements. They still sound tight, though.

This record once again proves how Kikagaku Moyo are one of the most exciting and important psych bands right now. This record is a masterpiece of beautiful sprawling psych rock. Track like 'smoke and mirrors' also show the incredible guitar skills the group have. The record also has a very hypnotic and relaxing feeling running throughout which makes it a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. One feature that may separate the album from its neo-psych peers is its beautiful haunting sitar work.

Overall a great album from one of modern psychedelicas most important bands.
