I really enjoyed SBTRKT's debut album, itcseemed pretty fresh, there was a consistency about the album, perhaps helped by Sampha's regular presence, so I come to this with favourable expectations. That are swiftly crushed. This is a sorry release. Never judge a book by its cover they so.... so true ...

I really enjoyed SBTRKT's debut album, itcseemed pretty fresh, there was a consistency about the album, perhaps helped by Sampha's regular presence, so I come to this with favourable expectations. That are swiftly crushed. This is a sorry release. Never judge a book by its cover they so.... so true here. Lovely sleeve, seriously weak content. Aaron Jerome has some balls putting this out as a stand alone 12. Kyoto is rubbish, weak tinny beats, no direction, just so 'meh'. I think its supposed to feel 'emotional' but goes about as deep as Geordie Shore. He can do so much more, this is a shame. Of the 3 marks I've given I reckon over half are for the sleeve. Go and buy Caribou's single instead, he knows how to put heart into tracks rather than souless sheen.
